Hey Reader, It's Friday, so of course, that means I'm standing at my desk and emailing you. Thanks for letting me be in your inbox, by the way. I never take it for granted! I love writing to you each week, and I hope over time, I can really get to know you and your travel goals a lot better. We all have that list of "one day" trips we want to take. And speaking of travel…I want to share some of the reasons that I love working in this particular industry in the first place. First and foremost, the travel industry runs on relationships, and I am a people person through and through. I love working with people like you Reader. I feel very lucky that somehow, only the most kind, wonderful clients find me. It's always incredible to meet with folks, hear their ideas, and see the world through their perspective. I am often surprised and delighted by what sparks a trip! I also love hearing the hopes and dreams of some of the most curious, lovely, and smart people - and then actually getting to make those dreams come true. I often feel like a fairy godmother. It is so gratifying to create a completely tailored journey that only could belong to you. And then to hear the incredible memories you've made as a result...honestly, it gives me goosebumps every time. Of course, I got into all this after years of both global health research AND running my own luxury wedding and event business. And while I thought I would always be managing research or events for a living, wow is this job so much more fun! I still get to do plenty of research on your destinations and their cultures, languages, hotels, and activities - including through my own travel. And of course, I always put my project and event manager hats on to manage your trip details, ensuring everything is flawless. But best of all, I still get to manage teams of experts around the world - only, now it's a team of local travel colleagues who are damn excited you're coming to visit! So being a travel advisor is like a layer cake of all my favorite parts of the work I've done throughout my career. That's why I genuinely love my job! I could gush forever, but it's your turn. What do you love the most about travel? What gets you excited to add a place to your list? Be as chatty as you like - I reply to every email :) Have a great weekend! -Carolyn |
Hi, I'm Carolyn! I believe your vacation should actually feel like one - not another project to manage. As a luxury travel advisor based in Seattle, WA, I'm here to ensure every journey delivers exactly what you desired, completely effortlessly. Think of me as your personal curator, your cultural interpreter, and your detail-obsessed advocate, all in one. I email weekly to the Windward Circle, a group of thoughtful explorers who receive insider insights and cultural travel inspiration. Join us!
Hey Reader. The weather outside is getting darker and colder, but inside my head? It’s nice and sunny! Because this week, it's been all Africa, all the time for me! First, my clients have been sharing the coolest pictures from their time in South Africa, Uganda, and Tanzania. They saw a newborn forest gorilla yesterday! 😍 Second, I've spent this whole week at a conference called We Are Africa, with all-African colleagues who operate lodges, safari companies, hotels, and so much more. I've...
Hey Reader, Can you do me a favor real quick? Click here and let me know what you think? I promise I’m not bamboozling you. It’s fun. -Carolyn PS. Okay, if you must know…after planning 15+ trips so far this year, I rewrote some of my homepage, even though I am not a copywriter. Like, at all. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, Reader.
Hey Reader, I am super behind this week, so this will be quick. First, it's official: I'm a Certified Travel Associate (CTA). Peep my new email signature - I added my MPH too, because why not? I worked hard for that degree! (And it's how I was able to live in 9 countries!) Secondly, I wanted you to see this article about Four Seasons Preferred Partners if you haven't yet. I am a Four Seasons Preferred Partner, too, and if you are ever looking to book a Four Seasons property, read this first....
